Intuit buys revenue management platform Sequence

Intuit buys revenue management platform Sequence - revenue management
Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi said mid-market revenue grew 39% in fiscal 2026, with mid-market customers growing 28%.

In a strategic move, Intuit has agreed to acquire Sequence, a revenue management platform, anticipating increased demand for such tools as businesses increasingly adopt complex usage-based and hybrid pricing models. This acquisition aligns with Intuit’s strategy to expand its financial software offerings for the mid-market segment.

The Sequence acquisition is expected to add AI-powered revenue management capabilities, strengthening Intuit’s mid-market offerings, including Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Wyatt Jenkins, senior vice president of product for Intuit’s Mid-Market Group, noted that businesses are moving to usage-based and milestone pricing, driving innovation in accounts receivable. This shift is part of Intuit’s broader push to expand its mid-market business.

Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi said mid-market revenue grew 39% in fiscal 2026, with mid-market customers growing 28%. Roughly three-quarters of additions came from existing QuickBooks customers upgrading or migrating from desktop products.

CFO Sandeep Aujla said revenue from QuickBooks Online Advanced and Intuit Enterprise Suite grew 38% in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, revenue from Intuit’s desktop ecosystem is expected to decline in the coming fiscal year, primarily due to customer migration to online offerings.

Sequence is designed to help companies manage complex pricing and billing arrangements, reducing manual work for finance teams. Its AI agents automate daily revenue management tasks, according to a press release.

The platform automates the quote-to-revenue lifecycle, including deal configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition. Sequence’s co-founder and CEO, Riya Grover, said joining Intuit will allow the company to bring its product to more businesses and expand into additional industries.

Sequence’s team will join Intuit’s Mid-Market product organization, and Intuit plans to develop an integrated offering in the coming months. The company will continue supporting Sequence customers after the acquisition closes.

Intuit’s executive vice president and general manager of its Small Business and Mid-Market Group, Ashley Still, said Sequence will enable the company to deliver mature revenue management to customers, extending Intuit Enterprise Suite into industries that leverage AI consumption models.
